Howard Beach needs two Bridges. One going from 95th Street to Crossbay Blvd. and one going from Howard Beach to Hamilton Beach. These bridges were not there for beauty alone. They were there for safety. There needs to be more than one way to get in and out of Howard and Hamilton Beaches. The pedestrian bridge was a total waste of money. They needed to build a bridge that could be used by cars as well as people on foot. I heard that too many "foreigners", non-Howard Beachers, coming into the neighborhood at the park but that is not a good excuse for leaving the Howard Beach people with only one way in and out. Aside from over near the race track, there is only one way out.

CB I couldn't agree with you more. I've heard the thing about keeping "strangers" out, but from a fire, traffic and safety aspect the neighborhood needs a new bridge. I miss the old wooden bridge at 165th Avenue. Doubt City DOT has any plans for a bridge though. Ray
