My Maiden name is Marchese. I was in the bowling leagues @ Crossbay lanes, hung out at the pizza palour accross the street after the league. The library on Cross Bay was another of my fave spots. Lived on Broadway, Church Street and Russell Street before moving to Fl. in '78. Was in the Girls Scout Troop 4-257 @ St. Barbarnas Church but also attended OLG masses. I miss the feasts, also the VFW band- played the glocks. If I didn't know you then I do now! LOL! Better late then never! My best! Pizza City Sicilian pizza was the best! I have never had any other like it. I heard that Gino's is good now. I'll have to go back and try it.Getting a little out of HB for a moment, does anyone remember the pizza and calzone place called Florio's right across the street from Ferrara's in NYC? Is it still there? The food there was wonderful! When I lived in HB, I went there once every week or to Chinatown. Wo Kee was a wonderful place, 11 Doyer's Street, NYC Once you live in NY, you know how to eat well.

Moved out of NY in 1998, live in Palm Beach County now. There are some decent pizza places. Here's a few for those of you who know the areas ... NYPD Pizza on Lantana & Jog (Lake Worth) ... Romeo's on Military & 45th (West Palm Beach) ... Pasquale's on Royal Palm & Coral Springs Drive (Coral Springs). Pasquale's even has zeppoles!

Well, we didn't move to Florida. We moved from Howard Beach to New Jersey, just before my junior year of high school. Oh yeah, sure, no Regents exams to take anymore, but otherwise, talk about culture shock!!! (I knew I would never "live" in New Jersey. I now reside in the Greater Washington DC area.) My parents are snowbirds-in-training, meaning they haven't purchased a winter home in Florida yet; they've only rented these last two years. And each time they've gone to Florida (Deerfield Beach), they've gone to the Abraham Lincoln HS reunion held there. [Abraham Lincoln HS in Coney Island is my father's alma mater; Louis Gossett Jr. and Neil Sedaka and, I think, Neil Diamond are among the celebrity alums. Mom went to Tilden HS.] ANYWAY~ talk about a small world. The wife of one of my father's old buddies, who was living in Florida full-time and whom my father hadn't seen in a while, had been reluctant to go with him to the reunion, because she wouldn't know anyone there. Her husband rattled off a list of names of people who would be there, and when he said, "Bagels," his wife said, "There's only one person I know named Bagels." Turns out it was my father! The wife was one of our neighbors from 84th street in Howard Beach! And they were all brought together again Florida! (I don't know if they went for pizza, but they probably did go for the Early Bird Special!) Edited by - hillary on May 01 2005 05:39:17 AM

There are 2 decent NY style pizza places in Boca Raton - both near FAU. Ruby's on Glades Rd. and Jerry's on Boca Raton Blvd.

czako - Don't leave out Zemi's down by the Town Cntr - a little pricey but blows away Ginos, New Park, and Pizza City (gone but not forgotten). My dad did mention that no one (and he was adamant about it) but no one could top Nick's for his veal parm. I remember going into Nick's years ago, what a dive, but the food was spectacular. My brother delivered the LI Press and picked up his papers next door.

I just logged on here for the first time in awhile and I see this post. The wife and I are taking the kids in a few minutes to Pasquale`s for dinner. Easier for me to get there though...only 3 miles away. Bill
