I lived here for 17 years . I have many good memories of a childhood that was both happy and safe . Of good frieds and the best childhood a person could ever want . From kindergarten to graduation from PS 146 ,in 1952 I lived a life that most people could only dream of . From swimming in the bay , both in the sun or by the light of the moon , to playing baseball at the casino . Softball , basketball and handball on the wall in the school yard , all for free . The memories are to many to be put in so fue words . Yet , I will say that the area of safty that was and is Howard Beach was the best area that any child could grow up in .
