Honestly, I don't think I've ever been to Zemi's. I'll have to check that out. During Hurricane Wilma, a buddy and I ate at Renzo's on Jog Road in Boynton Beach, and it was pretty darn good... Oh and sorry for the repeating posts almost 2 years apart.

Name is Mike Rourke. Moved to Jacksonville, FL in June 2001 with wife Marilyn (from Jackson Hts.), and our son (20) and daughter (24). Now that I've found this forum site, I didn't realize how much I miss HB. And "NY style" pizza down here is just a crock o'... Now I'm missing "Pop's New Park Pizza"... remember 15 cents a slice. As I remember, the Big Bow Wow and Pizza City were never as good as Pop's.... I remember he had a real gravelly voice: "Heyya you... yea you... you gonna buy some pizza or what...". Then he would (good naturedly) chase you away if you didn't buy.

If you're in Boynton, you should know of NYPD which is one of the best pizza places on Lantana and Jog. Best in WPB is La Famiglia on Jog & Forest Hill.

Originally posted by Donna Fitz: Moved out of NY in 1998, live in Palm Beach County now. There are some decent pizza places. Here's a few for those of you who know the areas ... NYPD Pizza on Lantana & Jog (Lake Worth) ... Romeo's on Military & 45th (West Palm Beach) ... Pasquale's on Royal Palm & Coral Springs Drive (Coral Springs). Pasquale's even has zeppoles!
If you're ever on Forest Hill Blvd and Jog, you gotta check out La Famiglia in the Greenacres Riverbridge Plaza next to the movie theater. Their pizza is excellent, same NY taste, crispy on bottom, and the rest of the menu is also very good. NYPD is one of the best. I live in Lake Worth/Boynton Beach also. Another favorite is Dean Anthony's in Boynton.

To all those who live in the New Port Richey to Spring Hill area. There are two Pizza restraunts that are good, Raymonds on SR52 an US 19, and Leaning Tower . They have two places on grand blvd by the hosiptal and in trinity shopping plaza. Val Stauder

I don't live in FL but I have some relatives who do and they are also originally from HB. They went to Pasquale's for dinner because I told them I read on the Howard Beach site that it was very good. Well, they didn't eat there after all because they said it was so crowded and you had to stand on line to order your food like a fast food place and they were not able to wait on that particular evening. They'll try again when they have more time. Then I'll let you know if it was worth the wait. Thanks for the tip anyway.

I have never had good pizza in South FL! I think it all stinks! It's just that some stink less than others, lol. Nino's in Boca Raton isn't too bad. For Chinese, try Lucky Palace in Boca Raton, on State Road 7. If you want good mussels or eggplant in Boca, go to Augie's on Boca Raton Blvd.

Pop's Pizza at New Park was delicious but they did not know how to make Sicilian pizza there. For that you had to go to Pizza City. Pizza City's "round" (Neopolitan) pizza was nowhere as good as Pop's. He was a very nice man, still can picture him and hear his voice. I also remember, 15 cents per slice. As a matter of fact when it first opened, there was a neon sign on top of the building that read, 15 cents. Is New Park still there?

I was there Aug.02,2006. The Pizza is still amazing!! My kids had seconds & thirds!! New Park was celebrating 50 years in business & with the same brick oven. New Park should become a local historical site!

Just stopped by New Park on the way over seas. Same as I remember when they first started 50 years ago. Took my son and his son, and took some pictures. Got one posted at: http://www.myspace.com/arloguthriefamily Went and said hello to the neighbors who are still there. Great time.

I lived in Coral Springs from 1976 to 1981.  Apparently some other Howard Beach resident later moved onto the same block I lived on (NW 100 Ave).
