BBA SPORTS Athletic Center its hosting its first Childhood Obesity awareness workshop on June 25, 11 at 11:00am. We are committed to helping as many children and their families learn about this epidemic and help them become part of the solution. Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled. Today, nearly one in three children in the United States is overweight or obese, which puts them at greater risk for health problems like diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, and asthma. This epidemic affects every community in our country and every sector of our society, but there’s good news – the solutions are within our grasp.
BBA SPORTS Athletic Center is working on getting our community together to help our children grow up with the best quality of life possible. BBA SPORTS is developing a comprehensive initiative, launched by Yvonne Hernandez, dedicated to solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and be able to pursue their dreams. By combining comprehensive strategies with education. BBA SPORTS is focus on putting children on the path to a healthy future during their young years. BBA SPORTS is dedicated to giving parents helpful information, fostering environments that support healthy choice, and helping kids become more physically active.
Everyone has a role to play in reducing childhood obesity, including parents, elected officials from all levels of government, schools, health care professionals, faith-based and community-based organizations, and private sector companies and businesses. Your involvement is key to ensuring a healthy future for our children.
The workshop will go over basic nutrition and food label awareness.
